9 AM Worship Leader

Purpose:

April Sound Church is seeking a passionate and experienced Worship Leader to lead the 9 AM Traditional Service. This individual will play a key role in fostering a worshipful atmosphere, incorporating the great hymns of faith, and bridging our ancient faith with the contemporary world. The perfect 9AM Worship Leader will also feel confident in leading our choir.

Hours & Availability:

Able to commit to Sunday mornings at 9 AM, occasional planning meetings, Wednesday Night Rehearsal/practice and special services.

Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing 9AM Service:

o   planning order of service, song selection, and liturgical elements

o   maintaining, recruiting, and scheduling 9 AM worship volunteers (musicians, scripture readers, vocalists, etc)

o   leading practice for 9 AM worship team & choir

  • Spiritual Leadership:

o   Lead an atmosphere of worship that fosters intimacy with and devotion to God, seeks to magnify and glorify Christ.

o   Lead with humility, passion, biblical integrity, and a heart for bridging our ancient Christian faith with today’s world.

  • Help plan and execute special services.

  • Incorporate and plan services according to liturgical and secular calendars.

Qualifications & Expectations

Required:

  • Evident relationship with Jesus Christ.

  • Godly character, integrity, fruit of the Spirit.

  • Biblical, liturgical, and theological (doctrinal/creedal) knowledge, especially in the field of worship.

  • Musical Proficiency

  • Familiarity & Appreciation of the great hymns of the Christian faith.

Desired:

  • Interdenominational knowledge & ecumenical heart.

  • Administrative & organizational giftings.

  • Denominational ordination or licensing.

  • Appreciation for Patristic Theology.

Compensation:

$200 or more per week for approximately 5-7 hours of work, including Sunday service and preparation time.
